Planners hosting in Oregon looking for an extra-convenient event space for attendees flying into Portland International Airport—or who simply want a space along the scenic Columbia River—might appreciate The Mindaro Event Center, which opened at the end of March just 3 miles east of the airport. The new venue is part of the larger Mindaro Campus, which will include the Hyatt House Portland Airport and The Mindaro, a JdV by Hyatt hotel; the former is slated to open this August, and the latter is expected to debut this fall.

“The Mindaro Event Center is a key element of a unique hospitality ecosystem in Portland, which will ultimately provide meeting planners and guests with endless possibilities to create bespoke experiences,” says Phillip Wilson, general manager of the center, in a prepared statement. “From tailored space planning to collaborative menu development with Jawfish Restaurant, The Mindaro Event Center is ready to facilitate every hosting engagement.”

The event center spans 8,000 square feet, and its Jawfish Restaurant provides on-site catering with menu items like prosciutto-and-fig pizza, roasted chicken taquitos, and blackened ahi tuna, among others. The restaurant’s culinary experts can customize menus to suite each planner’s vision and budget.

Among the available meeting spaces are The Portland Boardroom for up to 10 attendees, a 5,314-square-foot ballroom for up to 379 people, The Willamette Room spanning some 2,000 square feet, and The Cascade Boardroom for up to 20 attendees. The ballroom can be divided into four smaller spaces—the Mount St. Helens, Mount Adams, Mount Rainier, and Mount Hood rooms, all named after well-known mountains in Washington and Oregon.
