At the southern end of Lake Washington in Renton, Washington, southeast of Seattle, the Hyatt Regency Lake Washington at Seattle’s Southport appointed industry veteran Tayna Zasada as director of sales, marketing, and events in mid-January. Her key goal will be to lead strategic sales and marketing efforts to attract meetings, events, and leisure travelers to the property.

“We are thrilled to welcome Tayna Zasada to the Hyatt Regency Lake Washington team,” says Scott Lane, general manager at the hotel, in a prepared statement. “With her extensive Hyatt experience and strong knowledge of the Seattle market, Tayna will be an incredible asset. I look forward to seeing her continue to elevate our team and drive success across the property.”

Zasada has an extensive background in the broader hospitality, sales, marketing, and events sectors. She began in 2013 as special events coordinator intern at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Milwaukee, followed by a short stint at the now-closed Hard Rock Cafe Mall of America in Bloomington, Minnesota, as sales and marketing coordinator from late 2015 to early 2016. Her work with Hyatt Hotels & Resorts began shortly after in August 2016, when she became sales manager at Hyatt Place Minneapolis/Downtown, followed by similar sales positions at Hyatt Regency Dallas and Hyatt Regency DFW International Airport. She took on her first industry role in the Emerald City in 2023 as area associate director of sales for a trio of Hyatt properties in Seattle, then transitioned to the Grand Hyatt Seattle as director of sales in 2024. The latter position was her most recent before joining the team at Hyatt Regency Lake Washington.

“I am honored to join the exceptional team at Hyatt Regency Lake Washington,” says Zasada. “With its stunning waterfront setting, outstanding service, and dynamic culinary program, the hotel offers an incredible experience for guests. I look forward to taking a community-first approach to build awareness of the property while empowering our team to succeed both personally and professionally.”

In addition to its 347 guest rooms, the property offers 60,000 square feet of meeting and event space, including outdoor rooftop terraces and a Grand Ballroom with tall windows framing views of Lake Washington.
