The sprawling Seattle Convention Center (SCC) is made up of two buildings, Arch and Summit, the latter of which opened at the start of 2023. The campus sits in the heart of downtown Seattle in proximity to transportation hubs, many restaurants and entertainment venues, and waterfront attractions near Puget Sound’s Elliott Bay. With the addition of the Summit building nearly doubling the convention center’s total size, the team at SCC wanted to ensure its event technology partner could handle the robust meeting industry expectations of its planners, attendees, and teams when it came to event tech that created memorable gatherings, and Encore fit the bill.
“By partnering with Encore, we have found a creative provider who possesses industry prowess and at the same time understands the importance of leading with hospitality for every event and customer,” says Loni Syltebo, director of communications for SCC. “Technology is always evolving and having a partner that is a celebrated leader within the production space is key to our clientele’s success at SCC.”
Totaling nearly 1 million square feet of total space, the SCC campus offers 434,080 square feet of space for functions of all kinds at its Arch building. It features 70 individual meeting rooms that include two junior ballrooms and four conference rooms. The newer Summit building offers 570,290 square feet of space across 62 meeting rooms and a 58,000-square-foot ballroom. Capable of handling 12 to 35,000 attendees, the venue options are just about endless at SCC.
When it comes to standout tech, Encore offers myriad options, from immersive experiences and augmented reality to LED totem signage. Syltebo adds, “In addition, [Encore] stood out during the competitive solicitation process by having the capacity to manage multiple events simultaneously across two buildings at a high service level.”
