The Fairmont Olympic Hotel in downtown Seattle was first established on the original University of Washington campus in 1924. Since the revitalization that took place in 1982, the hotel has been the host site for many glamorous events and notable guests—including nearly every U.S. president since Herbert Hoover, Elvis Presley, and more. This year, it celebrates a milestone 100th anniversary since its opening.
“With a captivating history and striking architecture, the Fairmont Olympic seamlessly blends timeless charm with modern luxury,” says Jennifer Lennon, certified meeting planner and director of event sales and services for the hotel. “Featuring 450 guest rooms and suites, along with 28,000 square feet of cutting-edge event spaces—including 15 distinctive rooms—the hotel is a premier choice for visitors.” It is located near the iconic Pike Place Market and the Seattle Waterfront, as well as the Seattle Convention Center, giving meeting-goers easy access to activities and unique market vendors between sessions. The hotel is well suited for events ranging in size from 10 to 650 attendees.
“This extraordinary year presents a rare opportunity for our colleagues, both new and seasoned, as well as our alumni and local community, to come together and commemorate the myriad memories accumulated over the years,” adds Lennon. “Delving into our archives, we aim to craft distinctive experiences across our venues and within our rooms, special cornerstone events for each season and tributes within our existing amenities, weaving a tapestry of events that not only celebrate the past but also make this year truly exceptional.”
Beyond the meeting spaces and guest rooms, the Fairmont also features four on-site restaurants and bars, a coffee shop, hot tub, sauna, health center, an indoor pool, and the full-service spa named Penelope and the Beauty Bar.
