Located on the Washington side of the Columbia River Gorge with breathtaking views of the surrounding gorge landscape, Skamania Lodge reopened its luxury glamping (upscale camping) accommodations on April 1, available through this October. The five canvas tents feature either a king-size bed or two queen-size beds with private outdoor fire pits and separate bathing tents with soaking tubs, placing guests in the heart of nature.
“Our immersive outdoor experience helps guests reconnect with nature while enjoying luxury comforts,” says Paige Carlson, director of sales and marketing at Skamania Lodge, in a prepared statement. “As one of the only resorts located in the scenic Columbia River Gorge, Skamania Lodge is the perfect base camp for outdoor adventures, from hiking, fly-fishing, and cycling to whitewater rafting and, for the adventurous, windsurfing.”
Similar camping-style accommodations at Skamania Lodge include its treehouses, elevated above the forest floor and built amid Douglas fir trees; and cabins, built with modern-rustic designs.
The 175-acre resort features a collection of amenities, including the Waterleaf Spa, a heated indoor pool, two hot tubs, a putting course, nine-hole short golf course, e-bikes, zip lining, ax throwing, and an aerial ropes course. Dining options include the Cascade Dining Room and the River Rock Lounge, the latter of which features plates like Braised Bison Chili, Steelhead Tacos, and several signature brick oven pizzas.
Planners can select from multiple venues within the resort’s 22,000 square feet of indoor event space, including the 713-square-foot Washington Room and the 416-square-foot Meadow Room. Larger groups can take advantage of The Riverview Pavilion, featuring 2,500 square feet of space for up to 300 attendees reception-style; or the Moonlight Pavilion for up to 180. Both pavilions are covered outdoor spaces framed by forest, river, and mountain landscapes.
