Surfsand Resort, located along the northern Oregon coast in Cannon Beach, unveiled its updated Tidepool Event Space in early February to conclude the final phase of its multimillion-dollar renovation project that began last year. The fresh space spans nearly 3,000 square feet in size—making it one of the largest event venues in Cannon Beach—and features floor-to-ceiling windows showcasing stunning views of the Pacific Ocean and the famed Haystack Rock (a stark, 235-foot monolithic rock on the shoreline).
“We are thrilled to introduce the new venue, delivering the best of Cannon Beach,” says Rick Takach, chairman and CEO of Vesta Hospitality (managing company of Surfsand Resort), in a prepared statement. “From weddings and corporate events to family reunions, our team is dedicated to creating successful and memorable events.”
The renewed event space complements the several other upgrades made throughout the expansive renovation project, which also touched on guest rooms, public spaces, and the resort’s Wayfarer Restaurant & Lounge. The Tidepool Event Space provides upgraded chandeliers to enhance the natural light coming in through the tall windows, a built-in sound system and screen, and new carpeting. Its foyer also received updates, with fresh flooring and decor centered on coastal accents. Groups of up to 200 people can be accommodated.
Catering is handled by Wayfarer Restaurant & Lounge, which serves up a menu of Northwest seafood and other plates that spotlight locally sourced and seasonal ingredients, in addition to beers, wines, and cocktails. The resort provides a collection of other gathering spaces to choose from as well, including a designated area right on the beach.
