Bon Appétit recently announced the lineup of Feast Portland: A Celebration of Oregon Bounty set for Sept. 18-21, 2014 with tickets going sale Monday, May 19 at feastportland.com.
Entering its third year, the flagship food and drink festival of the Pacific Northwest brings together leading chefs, artisans, farmers, winemakers, brewers and distillers from Oregon and other states in the region for a four-day weekend with over 35 events at venues across Portland.
At the core of this annual exhibition of Bounty is a mission to end childhood hunger in Oregon and across America by donating festival net proceeds to Share Our Strength and Partners for a Hunger-Free Oregon, giving more than $99,000 in its first two years.
THE TALENT
Based in a city globally celebrated for innovations in food and drink, Feast Portland unites local talent with internationally recognized chefs, industry leaders, national media and top culinary influencers.
“Feast Portland shines the spotlight on Portland and Oregon for one weekend each year, and provides industry leaders with firsthand experience of emerging culinary trends,” said Carrie Welch and Mike Thelin, founders of Feast Portland.
With local Portland chefs from restaurants such as St. Jack, OX Restaurant, and Nostrana, to visiting chefs from restaurants such as Toro, Atelier Crenn, and Hinoki & the Bird, Feast has become a festival for emerging and established talent across the industry.
“Oregon’s vibrant food scene is a direct result of the talent that is cultivated here along with access to some of the world’s most pristine ingredients, said Todd Davidson, CEO of Travel Oregon. “Feast Portland celebrates Oregon’s bounty and allows us to showcase the diversity of culinary experiences that can be found throughout the state.”
THE EVENTS
Feast Portland 2014 will feature the return of marquee events like Widmer Brothers Brewing Sandwich Invitational Presented By Dave’s Killer Bread, USA Pears Night Market at Zidell Yards, Oregonian Media Group High Comfort at The Nines, and more. Marquee events are complemented by intimate sit-down dinners, tasting panels, hands-on classes, lively culinary demonstrations and industry get-togethers over the course of the weekend.
