IHG Hotels & Resorts welcomed its first InterContinental Hotels & Resorts-branded property in the Pacific Northwest at the end of July. The 208-room InterContinental Bellevue at the Avenue is east of downtown Seattle, Washington, across Lake Washington in Bellevue. The hotel is within the Avenue Bellevue complex developed by Bellevue-based Fortress Development.
“We welcome guests with extraordinary amenities and contemporary comforts, reflecting Bellevue’s unique charm and the brand’s legacy of luxury,” says General Manager Haje Roger Thurau in a prepared statement. Framed by views of Lake Washington, the Seattle skyline, and the Cascade Mountains, the hotel features an interior design inspired by the natural beauty of the area with a neutral color palette and organic elements.
The property offers 12,000 square feet of function space spanning nine meeting rooms, private boardrooms, and an outdoor terrace overlooking Bellevue Square. The Avenue Grand Ballroom is the largest space at 4,272 square feet and hosts 420 attendees theater-style. The Avenue Outdoor Terrace is 925 square feet and accommodates 55 people reception-style.
Planners might take advantage of the curated group experiences available through the hotel, from wine tours to private seaplane excursions. Two restaurants are on-site—Ce La Vi Bellevue and Fresco—in addition to Bellevue Culinary Showcase, a program through which guests can experience a tailored culinary journey at local restaurants around Bellevue selected by an on-site concierge. Ce La Vi Bellevue is a Parisian-inspired bistro in the lobby that serves up small plates paired with a selection of cocktails, whiskeys, and wines. Fresco is the hotel’s contemporary Pacific Northwest eatery that offers breakfast and brunch made with locally sourced ingredients presented with international twists.
