Plans for a 124-room Hyatt Place hotel will soon be underway at the Oakway Center in Eugene, with construction starting in January 2015. This marks the second Hyatt Hotel in Oregon, and the first in Eugene. The hotel will occupy the top three floors of the eight-story building going in on the west side of the Oakway Center property, which is located just north of Eugene’s downtown core.
The Center houses a wide range of specialty restaurants and retail establishments, from homegrown successes like Nike and the Eugene Running Company, to popular retailers like Nordstrom Rack and Pottery Barn.
The horseshoe-shaped hotel will include meeting space, an exercise facility, swimming pool, breakfast service and a bar. A three-story parking structure will occupy the levels below the hotel, with a total of 350 spaces available to guests and shoppers.
The new property will be managed by InnSight Hotel Management Group, a full-service, award-winning hotel management company headquartered in Springfield, Oregon. Planned to open in June 2016, construction of the hotel is expected to take 13 months.
