From Axe Throwing to Fly Fishing: Group Activities at Suncadia

By M+E Staff

After a very challenging couple of years, we could all use a way to let off some steam. Suncadia Resort in Cle Elum, Washington, provides just that with their newly introduced, and highly popular, axe-throwing classes. It’s only one of scores of group activities that can take place across the 6,400-acre playground that’s nestled in the eastern slopes of the Cascade mountain range and that offers 46,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor event space. Meeting breakers, which run from 30 to 60 minutes, include a karaoke showdown and “best to invest,” an improv riff on Shark Tank, along with games that will remind you of some of the sillier moments from summer camp. Team building activities will have groups competing to craft the best raft or build the sturdiest bridge, while the extensive menu of recreational options includes hikes of various difficulty on 40 miles of trails; floating or fly fishing on Cle Elum River, and such intoxicating diversions as the Pints + Bikes guided bike tour and craft brews tasting, a “canvas + cocktails” painting workshop, and a hands-on margarita making contest.  With three championship golf courses on property, group golf clinics and tournaments, nighttime “glow golf” and one-to-two-hour putt competitions at the Roper Rider Golf Park can be arranged. destinationhotels.com/suncadia-resort/meetings-events
