ANCHORAGE GOLF COURSE
Anchorage, Alaska
Right outside Anchorage, the Anchorage Golf Course offers scenic golfing and a number of meeting and event options. The course is 18 holes over 6,600 yards, surrounded by views of the Chugach Mountain Range, the Anchorage city skyline, Cook Inlet and Mount McKinley. It features the only grass driving range in Anchorage and provides chipping and putting areas. Anchorage Golf Course hosts tournaments at competitive prices with options for catered breakfast, lunch or dinner, and the three special event rooms in the onsite restaurant, O’Malley’s on the Green, can accommodate groups ranging from 12 to 250.
PRONGHORN
Bend, Oregon
This destination retreat at Pronghorn in central Oregon brings visitors an award-winning golf experience and modern meeting spaces, with stunning scenery and an 80 percent chance of sunshine. The 18-hole, Jack Nicklaus signature course—surrounded by ancient lava-rock ridges, the second-largest juniper forest in the world and views of the Cascade Mountains—accommodates golfers of every skill level. “The scenery gets better and better the farther you go down the course,” says Ryan Dunning, group sales manager at Pronghorn. “And we can create custom golf events of all types: putting contests, short games, tournaments.” The resort also features the Troon Golf Academy at Pronghorn, which offers FlightScope (3D Doppler Radar for sports) and GEARS Golf technologies, offering full-body data with biofeedback. For pre-golf meetings, Pronghorn’s conference spaces are most ideal for groups of 40 to 50 or fewer. The Auberge Adventures team can plan and facilitate unique teambuilding activities and sessions, including custom whiskey, wine and beer tastings with Pronghorn’s level-two sommelier.
THE RESORT AT THE MOUNTAIN
Welches, Oregon
The Resort at The Mountain, located one hour from Portland, offers golf amid spectacular scenery, custom tournaments and meeting spaces for a range of groups. In the Salmon River Valley, with Mount Hood as its skyline, The Resort includes 27 holes (three 9-hole tracks) at The Courses and another 18 putting holes at The Greens, which can be reserved by groups. It also hosts tournaments for groups, with custom options for courses and banquet packages. The Resort can accommodate groups from 20 to 500 and offers 18,000 square feet of meeting, event and conference spaces. Features include mountain and forest views, catering, a full range of technological capabilities and options for breakout meeting spaces. It also offers a range of team-building activities. In addition to catering options, The Resort has an on-site restaurant and bar with seasonal and progressive fare.
SAGEBRUSH CLUB
Quilchena, British Columbia
About three hours from Vancouver, B.C., the 18-hole Sagebrush course offers one of the best golf experiences in Canada. “We strive to enhance the world-class golf experience with impeccable service, accommodation and meals,” says Bob Garnett, president of Sagebrush. Ranked in the top 100 courses internationally and No. 85 on Golf Digest’s 100 Best Golf Courses Outside the U.S. (2012), the nature-based, minimalist course integrates with its setting on the hillside overlooking Nicola Lake. It also features a clubhouse called Terry’s Hideout, where golfers can get lunch and a cold drink and try fly-fishing for rainbow trout. For something more relaxed, golfers can also play at the Badlands Putting Course and Practice Area. Sagebrush Club specializes in unique (like putting at midnight), customized corporate retreat packages for groups of up to 20 participants. Beyond golf, activities can include fly-fishing, wine tours and horseback riding. Sagebrush also offers conference room facilities. A retreat easily accessible from both Portland (45 minutes) and Seattle (3 hours), Skamania Lodge features a challenging, 18-hole, par-70 golf course and award-winning conference spaces on scenic, wooded grounds. The conference center includes 23 meeting rooms and more than 22,000 square feet of dedicated, modern meeting, exhibition and banquet space. Meeting packages and convention plans are available, and on-site conference planners coordinate the details of meetings, including transportation, activities and team-building events. Dining options include catered seasonal and themed menus.
SUNCADIA
Cle Elum, Washington
Just 90 minutes from Seattle, Suncadia features award-winning mountain golf and an extensive variety of meeting spaces. Courses available to the public are the 18-hole Prospector course, with fast greens and rolling fairways, and the Rope Rider, an 18-hole course with a three-hole short course also available for private and corporate events. In addition to golf, Suncadia offers a variety of creative team-building recreational activities and programs, like the “Build a Boat and Hope It Floats” challenge and more in spring 2015. Meeting spaces at Suncadia include The Inn at Suncadia, with approximately 5,000 square feet of meeting/event space for groups of up to 150. For larger meetings, The Lodge at Suncadia houses a 17,000-square-foot conference center, as well as an additional 16,000 square feet of meeting rooms, ballrooms and breakout spaces. And for post-golf or meeting refreshment, a full catering menu, as well as casual and fine dining options, is available.
