Venue Spotlight: World of Speed Museum

By Brenna Sievert

If you’re looking to add a little more drive to your next event, check out the World of Speed Museum in Wilsonville, Oregon. Opened in April 2015, the motor sport s museum offers more than 80,000 square feet of indoor meeting space. With every detail from hang points in the ceiling and multiple TVs to broadcast PowerPoints, logos or the event itself to the three race cars turned simulators available for rent, the museum is ready to host any type of event.

The gallery floor can accommodate 800 seated. The space is filled with cars during the museum’s open hours, but is cleared completely or partially, depending on event attendance. And if you have a meeting before 5 p.m., the museum offers a boardroom large enough to fit 45.

Everything needed for an event is provided: catering kitchen, A/V cables, projectors and more. The museum will even supply TV trays for portable dining. “We don’t just rent the room out and walk away,” says Nick Apap, World of Speed’s event manager.

Almost every inch of the museum is open for events, including the 2-acre parking lot. “Everywhere you look, there is always something going on,” Apap says. worldofspeed.org
