What’s New on Washington’s Vancouver Waterfront

By M+E Staff

Washington’s Vancouver Waterfront development project will be getting a big boost this summer with the opening of two long-awaited hotels. The 138-room Hotel Indigo is scheduled to open in late June or early July while the 150-room AC Hotel by Marriott is looking to make its debut on June 15 at the Port of Vancouver’s adjacent Terminal 1. A 10-story condominium building, Residences at Kirkland Tower, is planning an October opening and will be attached to Hotel Indigo.

The first phase of the waterfront development project, which opened in late 2018, consisted of an apartment building with first-floor commercial space, restaurants, and a seven-acre park and pier. Additional buildings were completed in 2019. Hotel Indigo and AC Hotel will be joined by the addition of other spots, including Willamette Valley Vineyards, to open in the Don Building above Maryhill Winery; Ruse Brewing Crust Collective, Portland-based brewery serving Detroit-style pizza, and The Waterfront Taphouse,  serving upscale pub food from its second-story spot overlooking the Grant Street Pier.

The Hotel Indigo/Kirkland Tower building will include Evoke Wine Bar; steakhouse El Gaucho; Witness Tree Lounge lobby bar, and 13 Coins, an outpost of the evergreen Seattle-based restaurant.
