Get attendees outside with a group excursion through Go Sail Flathead Lake, a sailboat rental company in Dayton, Montana, on the shores of Flathead Lake. The outfitter offers American Sailing Association-certified sailing lessons, along with kayak and sailboat tours.
Weather permitting, the sailing season runs from May through September. Planners might arrange kayak and sailing tours to Wild Horse Island State Park, an island on the lake where wild horses and other wildlife roam, as well as sailing lessons. “Sailing has a very large team-based nature to it,” says Lizzy Randolph, assistant manager at Go Sail Flathead Lake. “When you’re learning with your colleagues, friends, or family, you grow a strong bond, as well as a lifelong hobby to share.”
The sailboats cater to smaller groups of up to five per boat. Randolph notes that planners can opt to take two sailboats out together, amounting to a total capacity of eight to 10 attendees. Alternatively, the kayak tours accommodate up to 12 people. “The kayak tours to Wild Horse Island State Park are a thing of pure beauty with the clear waters of Flathead Lake,” she says. “Wild Horse Island also is a great place to go on a nature walk and spot wildlife.”
