An iconic destination along Seattle’s waterfront, Pike Place Market is a bustling maze of local artisan vendors, produce stands, and delicious foods and drinks from all over the region and the world. When gathering your group in the Emerald City, consider adding an excursion through the market with Eat Seattle Tours to get a real taste of the city.
“Our purpose at Eat Seattle Tours is to tell the stories of small food businesses in Seattle through the unique lens of a culinary professional,” says Liz Philpot, founder of Eat Seattle Tours and a chef herself. “We taste, explore, and have fun. We have intentionally designed it so that locals as well as tourists would enjoy our food experiences.”
During a tour, groups of up to 12 are led by one of Eat Seattle’s seven chef guides through Pike Place Market, dining on small bites and meeting with vendors. Eat Seattle has 20 partner vendors located in the market, and a tour will make about nine to 10 stops in the span of two hours. Additional tours available through Eat Seattle include the Coffee Crawl on Fridays and Saturdays, as well as ones that explore the nearby South Lake Union neighborhood. “Food brings people together,” adds Philpot. “It also gives people fresh air, movement, and nourishment after a long day of meetings.”
