Eat your heart out, New York City. No, seriously. Eat your heart out; it's NYC Restaurant Week

On July 22, NYC Restaurant Week returned for its 27th year, giving New Yorkers an excuse to eat out for 23 consecutive days. With nearly 400 restaurants participating throughout the five boroughs, NYC Restaurant Week is offering lunches for $26, three-cours prix-fixe dinners with dessert for $42 and a variety of curated collections, ideal for groups.

"The restaurants in this year’s 'Crowd Pleasers' collection are larger venues, known for accommodating groups, and some even offer space for private dining. At these eateries, the prix-fixe, dedicated menus have been identified as approachable, and the chefs offer classics to please any palate," says Jerry Cito, executive vice president convention development, NYC & Company. "After NYC Restaurant Week is over, planners and delegates alike will have been introduced to new favorites and are more likely to seek out the establishment on a future visit. Further, planners can keep in mind that NYC Restaurant Week always falls in late July/early August and then again in winter (late January to early February), so those operating within a budget can plan accordingly."

NYC Restaurant Week emphasizes New York's diverse melting pot, as the flavors of the world are served up together with diverse neighborhoods and cultures, to provide delegates with a taste of New York City. Oftentimes, delegates experience neighborhoods with a concentration of hotels and don’t venture beyond tried and true dining offerings.

"Planners whose meetings, conventions and events are scheduled to be in town in August and September can look forward to sister programs NYC Broadway Week and NYC Off-Broadway Week. Both are organized by NYC & Company and offer 2-for-1 tickets, meaning delegates can bring their significant other along and treat them to a night on the town, or enjoy bonding with a colleague while on the road," Cito adds.

The widely recognized Chateau on the Lake Resort, Spa, & Convention Center of Branson, Missouri, has captured the coveted “Best of MidAmerica Award” from Meetings Today magazine. Readers of the magazine determined recipients of the award, voting on a handful of the top MidAmerica meeting sites based off of quality of meeting space, guest rooms, services and amenities, food and beverage offerings, staff, availability of technical equipment, recreational facilities and activities, and overall experience.

 

Oklahoma City officials recently unveiled the MAPS 3 Oklahoma City Convention Center’s new brand featuring a colorful, high-energy logo.

“Everyone has seen the rise of the MAPS 3 Oklahoma City Convention Center on the east side of Scissortail Park, and its completion will be another MAPS game-changer for our City,” says Mayor David Holt. “Today’s logo unveiling is another milestone on that path.”
