INGREDIENTS:
— 1.5 oz Mason Dixon Distillery Aged Rum
— 3 oz pecan syrup
— 1.5 oz half and half
DIRECTIONS:
To make the pecan syrup combine 4 parts water and 4 parts sugar, then heat (but do not boil). Remove from heat once the mixture becomes clear. Add chopped pecans and let sit until mixture darkens. Enjoy!

American Treasure Tour has Something for Everyone of Every Age

Since its opening in 2010, the American Treasure Tour has seen an immeasurable amount of guests from 3 to 93 years old. The tour is divided into two portions—the Music Room and the Toy Room—and lasts up to 90 minutes. Guests see historic exhibits like classic cars, circus art, automatic music machines, nickelodeon and band organ collection displays.
Meet Laila Ea, Hospitality Across Cultures

Laila Ea was crossing cultures before she was even born. The child of Chinese and Cambodian parents, Ea was born in a refugee camp in Thailand. “My parents were lined up at the camp and told they would marry each other,” she explains. Her parents eventually fled Cambodia for Thailand, but it wasn’t an easy escape. “My mother was pregnant with me and my parents walked to Thailand,” she says. Ea’s family eventually landed in Philadelphia where they worked hard to secure a new life for Ea and her sister.
Event Snapshots: ILEA and HSMAI’s Jingle Jam

Jingle Jam was held on Jan. 25 at the Philadelphia Downtown Marriott. The event was co-hosted by ILEA and HSMAI and was themed with 1920s “Great Gatsby” flair. Attendees dressed in their flapper best to relive the Roaring Twenties while networking with new friends and reconnecting with old ones.
