JW Marriott Launches Wellness Menu

The JW Marriott Grand Rapids is taking an active approach to New Year’s resolutions with a new Wellness Break Menu, offering activities such as yoga, kickboxing and more.

The idea was inspired by a recent study of Fortune 100 companies that found employees’ overall well-being translates to improved productivity and increased likelihood of staying with their company for more than one year. The menu, which also offers light therapy and mindfulness activities, is intended to help groups increase productivity during meetings.

Los Angeles Tourism & Convention Board Announce 47.3 Million Visitors

According to Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti and Los Angeles Tourism & Convention Board President & CEO Ernest Wooden Jr., Los Angeles had a record 47.3 million visitors in 2016.

This is the sixth consecutive year they have broken visitation records. The new record is 1.7 million visitors higher than 2015’s total—an increase of 3.8 percent from the previous year.

Dream Hollywood’s Executive Management Team Appointed

Hotel brand and management company Dream Hotel Group has announced three new hospitality executives to lead Dream Hollywood in Los Angeles: Ayo Akinsete as general manager, Kendall Viola as director of sales and marketing, and Carly Skinner as manager. AEG Management Leads LA Convention Center to Millions in Reserves

Celebrating three years with the Los Angeles Convention Center on Dec. 20, AEG Management is celebrating another achievement of leading the convention center to $6.1 million in reserves and annual operating surplus. This ended in a record-breaking financial result for the LACC along with many other improvements since the partnership began in 2013.

Since the management change, the LACC increased operating profits each year and surpassing its initial goal of $2.1 million in the first five years in only three years with $6.1 million instead.
