Minnesotans, get excited. The tantalizing menu at Portillo’s—Chicago’s fast casual restaurant that serves Chicago-style cuisine—will now be available in Woodbury. The restaurant will be located at 8450 Hudson Road. They are set to begin construction in the coming months and are slated for a summer 2017 opening—the perfect seasons for hot dogs, a menu favorite.
The Goldmoor Inn has announced Glenn Griffith as its new director of events. Griffith will all event planning at the 21-acre property based in Galena, Ill.
He brings more thanr 25 years of experience to his new role, previously serving as director of catering in hotels such as The New York Palace Hotel, The Charles Hotel at Harvard Square and Four Seasons Hotel Chicago. He also has owned his own social and corporate event planning company, Glenn Griffith Inc.
Tracy DeJong, director of tour guide services for metroConnections, has been honored with the 2016 National Concierge Association Affiliate Volunteer of the Year Award. DeJong is also a board member of the Minnesota Chapter of the NCA. Previously, she was co-chair of the fundraising committee for NCA’s Minnesota Chapter.

The Commons Hotel, located in Minneapolis on the University of Minnesota campus, announced their newest offering: Small Meetings = Big Rewards. The new program is a way to entice planners to hold meetings with 10–100 room nights through March 31, 2017.
Associated Luxury Hotels International has officially added its 24th luxury hotel in Florida: the Four-Diamond Omni Orlando Resort at ChampionsGate. The 769-room resort is surrounded by 36 holes of Greg Norman-designed championship golf, 15 acres of recreation and pools, a 10,000-square-foot Mokara Spa, the David Leadbetter Gold Academy and much more. Offering meeting and event planners event space for any number of attendees, Planet Hollywood Observatory in Disney Springs, Fla., is opening this fall to host any unique event you need. Located in the heart of Disney Springs, the venue is four stories of meeting space that includes five different event spaces with Stargaze bar, expansive main floor and two patio spaces. Planet Hollywood also offers a 4,500-square-foot video wall that can be used for corporate purposes, up-to-date furnishings such as planet-shaped light fixtures and an interactive DJ for night events.

South Carolina’s Montage Palmetto Bluff resort just recently released its new meeting and event spaces. From its $100 million expansion, the resort added a new Inn building that includes 74 guest rooms, a new steakhouse called Jessamine, a spa and a Wilson Ballroom.
Debuting in September, The Montage is known for hosting countless events such as weddings, retreats, corporate events, and they also created its second onsite chapel.

Entertainment Cruises Boston announced their expansion with the addition of Boston Elite, a new charter yacht opening in Boston Harbor early next year.
