The Police Security Expo will remain in Atlantic City Convention Center for the next three years.

Also known as the Industry SuperShow, the expo features the latest products, services and technological within the industry. Items range from flashlights to uniforms, transport vehicles, forcible entry tools, weapons, crime scene investigation aids, wireless services and digital cameras. It has been held in Atlantic City since 1987.

“Meet AC is thrilled that the Police Security Expo has elected to remain with us here in Atlantic City through 2018,” says Jim Wood, president/CEO, Meet AC. “The convention industry has a tremendous impact on Atlantic City’s economy as evidenced by the tremendous impact the Police Security Expo will have on our local hotels, restaurants, retail outlets and casinos each year.”

More than 6,500 attendees visit the city during the expo annually bringing in more than 3,000 rooms. The estimated economic impact is expected to be more than $4.2 million annually

“We are delighted to remain in Atlantic City through 2018. We are very pleased by the overall professionalism of the Meet AC team and Atlantic City Convention Center staff while they have been amazing partners in our convention planning process,” says Miles Watkins, coordinator for the Police Security Expo. “Since one quarter of the nation’s largest population base resides within 300 miles of Atlantic City, this premier destination is the perfect location for attracting industry professionals charged with the responsibility of securing their communities and businesses, while protecting themselves on the job.”

It’s always good to have market data for a glimpse at what’s happening in the meetings and events industry and know there are credentials for professionals to work toward. The Events Industry Council (EIC) has released its 2022 Q1 Global Business Events Barometer earlier this week and announced its inaugural class of CMP Fellows this spring.

Event planners often schedule meetings and events in natural places near wilderness areas, at waterfront resorts, and at mountain event spaces. But there are many ways to bring nature into your events by making use of the architectural concept of biophilic design, which can be defined as seeking to engage most people’s innate desires to affiliate with nature in the modern built environment. If you think of yourself as an “event architect,” you can use nature to stimulate the senses.

It won’t be quite the same as ordering a pizza or nachos to be delivered to your front door but getting eats at venues is taking a leap toward convenience with a new collaboration: DoorDash has become ASM Global’s “On-Demand Delivery Platform” partner, launching at ASM Global’s top North American arenas, stadiums, theaters, and convention centers in the coming months. The partnership will allow attendees to skip traditional lines by leveraging DoorDash services to order within the arena for pickup.
