• Private Ranch Near Telluride Now Available to Groups

    POSTED February 26, 2019

Sleeping Indian Ranch, a private estate set on 15,000 acres and located 47 miles northwest of Telluride and 6 miles southeast of Ridgway, is now available for groups and can be booked through Telluride’s Madeline Hotel & Residences, Auberge Resorts Collection. The 40,000-squarefoot, seven-bedroom lodge sleeps 16 guests, was built in 1993 as a private family vacation estate, and is the largest post-andbeam log structure ever constructed that reflects the arts and crafts movement.

Inspired by the great lodges of Yellowstone and Yosemite, the home features reclaimed logs from the 1988 Yellowstone fire, some of which are up to 50 inches in diameter. Highlights are a dining hall that can seat up to 25 guests at a long table or outside on the terrace, media room, cigar room and three-room wine cellar that has the capacity to hold 3,000 bottles and intimate dinners for six to eight. Also located on the estate is the one-bedroom Elk Cabin. During warmer months, larger groups can book the Branding Barn for events, which has capacity for 200 people. Among the amenities are 24-hour butler service, meals prepared by the Madeline’s staff and access to vast wilderness and numerous activities.

The home of Rockford’s new entrepreneurial event space may date back to the 1920s, but Rockford City Market is primed to showcase future creatives and makers of all kinds.
