The governing board of Associations North in St. Paul announced Angela Kisskeys and Sarah Ruzek as the organization’s co-directors. The two will take over for president, Kathy Johnson, CAE. Johnson, who served the association for 28 years, will retire June 2017.
The Ranch has announced three new custom group experiences tthat will be vailable at the Ranch 4.0 at Four Seasons Hotel Westlake Village.
The new packages include hiking, rest, strength, conditioning, massages and yoga. There are three base programs corporate and leisure groups can choose from—Leading & Clean Eating, C-Suite Retreat and Strength in Numbers. The packages are designed to promote both health and wellness, and build strong relationships between employees and employers.
Naples Beach Hotel & Golf Club in southwest Florida will offer “Perks Are In Full Swing Group Promotion” in celebration of its revamped golf course. Available for new program bookings slated for May 21–Oct. 31, 2017, the promotion offers perks for groups that have booked at least 15 rooms on peak nights, with a minimum of two on Sunday–Thursday.
The promotion is available for the two peak nights on any night from Aug. 12–Sept. 9, 2017. To take advantage of the promotion, contract must be signed by April 30, 2017.
The Ritz-Carlton, St. Louis has finished the first year of a program meant to reduce hotel CO2 emissions, and it has been successful.
The project primarily focuses on composting, its fully operational in the hotel. In the first 11 months, hotel teams composted 415,000 pounds of unused food waste. The composted scraps are picked up by St. Louis Composting and sent to a facility in Belleville, Ill. The compost is sold to homeowners and landscapers in the St. Louis area.
The Aloft New Orleans Downtown has announced the launch of RoomCast, powered by Chromecast. The streaming system will allow guests to cast content from their devices to their television, all in the comfort and privacy of their own guest room.
The Commons Hotel, located in Minneapolis on the University of Minnesota campus, announced their newest offering: Small Meetings = Big Rewards. The new program is a way to entice planners to hold meetings with 10–100 room nights through March 31, 2017.
Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation and the Steamboat Grand Hotel has hired Jennifer Shea as their new sales director. In her new role, Shea will create and implement strategies for local, regional and national channels for tour operators, wholesalers, travel agents, properties and campaigns. She will also be in charge of pricing and products, overseeing conference programs and managing the sales team.
The Convention Industry Council Annual Meetings of Members was held on Oct. 20. This year’s meeting introduced the newly elected CIC Board of Directors.
Susan Robertson, CAE, executive vice president, ASAE, and president, Center for Association Leadership in Washington, D.C., was elected as the new CIC board chair; the position was previously held by Bonnie Fedchock, who completed her term.

The Crawford Hotel, located in the historical and recently renovated Denver Union Station, has expanded their tour program of the train station. The tour, previously offered biweekly, will now be offered weekly on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays at 1 p.m. The tour will feature Denver’s transportation, artwork, shops and restaurants located in the station, along with some of the unique rooms in the hotel.
