Dale McCarty was recently named general manager of Nashville Hutton Hotel.
1. What are you looking forward to the most in your new role?
I am excited to be in an independent environment where I can be actively involved in the multi-faced experience that is Hutton Hotel and Nashville as a whole.
2. How do you think past experiences have prepared you for this role?
In my 37 years in hospitality, I have seen almost anything that can happen in a hotel. With that, I have learned to adapt to the ever-changing environment of the industry and can bring a seasoned perspective to the role.
3. How did you get into the industry?
In college I was studying to be a teacher, but needed a job while I was still in school. I decided to walk into the coolest building in town, which was the Des Moines Marriott and I got a job as a banquet houseman. I loved being in the new and different world of hospitality, and I never left!
4. What are you hoping to achieve in your new role?
By working alongside our strong leadership team, my goal is to make Hutton the premier luxury hotel in the market.
5. What do you enjoy most about the industry?
I love working in a dynamic and ever-changing industry. In the world of hospitality, you are always meeting interesting people from all over the world and adapting daily to new and exciting challenges.
