Feisal Jaffer was recently appointed global brand head of LXR Hotels & Resorts.

1. What are you looking forward to the most in your new role?

I am thrilled to have the opportunity to grow Hilton’s first collection brand in the luxury space.  As part of this role, I will have the pleasure of working with leading independent hotel owners to help them drive greater performance through Hilton’s commercial engines. I look forward to leading LXR’s strategic growth and of course look forward to learning from these unique partners around the world.

2. How do you think past experiences have prepared you for this role?

Having lived and worked around the world for nearly 20 years, my global experience growing businesses and brands across the hotel, real estate and technology sectors has uniquely prepared me to grow LXR. Most recently, I have led luxury hotel developments in destinations across the US, Australia and the Maldives.  Having developed and invested in luxury hotels for a number of years is helpful to my current role as we partner with hotel owners and developers to create and curate bespoke experiences for our guests.  This is especially important as each LXR property operates individually and provides unique and locally immersive experiences in destinations around the world.

3. How did you get into the industry?

I began my career in the hospitality industry through business development and investment roles with Fairmont-Raffles Hotels International and Host Hotels & Resorts respectively. From there, I joined Pontiac Land Group in Singapore and led hotel real estate acquisition and development opportunities as well as supported business development activities for Capella Hotel Group.

4. What are you hoping to achieve in your new role?

I hope to play a crucial role in growing the LXR portfolio and pipeline with world-class luxury properties that will maintain their individuality and are unique to the most sought-after destinations in the world. I look forward to crafting unique experiences for our discerning guests.

5. What do you enjoy most about the industry?

I have enjoyed the opportunity to work with so many wonderful and intelligent people throughout my career from a diverse range of backgrounds. I thrive from continuously learning from the people around me and one of the reasons I am excited to be joining a company such as Hilton, which has been recognized by Great Place to Work as the #2 World’s Best Workplace and the #1 Best Place to Work in the U.S.
