Jamie Costa was recently named the spa director of The Essex, Vermont's Culinary Resort & Spa.

1. What are you looking forward to the most in your new role?

I have worked at several luxury properties over the years but never a property with such creative culinary talent. I would love to focus on living a clean and healthy lifestyle by intertwining spa and food. Two different ways to indulge that I would love to bring together.

2. How do you think past experiences have prepared you for this role?

For me working at different types of properties gives different looks on how to make a spa successful.

3. How did you get into the industry?

Living in a tourist town with several lake side resorts made it easy to want to work in hospitality but learning about the ever changing trends of the spa, products and the pampering aspect is what lead me to love the spa industry.

4. What are you hoping to achieve in your new role?

I hope to achieve bringing spa experience that our guests won't forget by combining your typical spa expectations along with new services and offerings that aren’t common. We are also committed to only using safe products with safe ingredients and by doing so we are changing out our product lines.

5. What do you enjoy most about the industry?

Guest service! It’s always my mission for guests to leave with the “wow” factor. You can have an amazing treatment anywhere but the exceptional customer service is what will keep them coming back to you.

Phillip Blane and Adela Toto were recently named general manager and director of sales and marketing for Kimpton Glover Park Hotel.

Gary Gill, telephone operator for The Broadmoor, earns the Heart of Hospitality award from The Above and Beyond Foundation.

1. How do you go above and beyond?

Our guests have a high expectation of service from The Broadmoor. Every team member strives to exceed that expectation; but, as I found out early on, the small things matter just as well.
