Michael Dominguez was recently named the new CEO of ALHI.

1. What are you looking forward to the most in your new role?

I am extremely proud to lead the premier independent GSO organization into the future. ALHI has established a reputation as a leading global sales organization for luxury hotels and resorts with strong industry connections and has garnered significant business from the MICE segment. They have consistently displayed commitment to their members and clients and a genuine passion to serve with professionalism and integrity, which I’ve always found impressive. As president and CEO, I look forward to building upon ALHI’s three decades of success.

2. How do you think past experiences have prepared you for this role?

Having the responsibility to sell a diverse group of hotels and destinations over the years has allowed me a broad perspective on the nuances that exist with each destination and the unique story of each hotel. My leadership experience in the meeting industry has allowed me to learn from some of the most innovative minds in the industry.

3. How did you get into the industry?

As many of us who started a long time ago, I am in the industry quite by accident. I began in the industry bussing tables at a Hyatt Hotel in San Antonio on the weekends when I was 15 years old.

4. What are you hoping to achieve in your new role?

I look forward to developing ALHI’s strategic vision that has made the company a leader in the industry. With my support, ALHI’s dedicated salesforce will continue to provide meeting professionals with unparalleled solutions to their programs by way of our exclusive member portfolio. At the same time, I plan to increase exposure of the portfolio to a broader base of customers and showcase the uniqueness that distinguishes the ALHI collection from the competition. Lastly, I intend to make ALHI the preferred place to work for talented professionals by fostering a culture of continued development that motivates and inspires future leaders.

5. What do you enjoy most about the industry?

There are so many things that I love most – but the diverse group of people and perspective that I get to hear from is the most invigorating part of this incredibly exciting industry. There is also a sense of pride knowing that our industry is connected to all facets of life. When we meet, we change the world.
