1. What are you looking forward to the most in your new role?
As president for the Orange County Chapter of Meeting Professionals International (MPIOC), I’m proud to be collaborating with a group of industry professionals that I admire. From our amazing Board of Directors, committee members and staff to our industry partners, I’m thrilled to share the enthusiasm and passion with this team. It’s truly inspiring, and I’m excited for what’s to come!
2. How do you think past experiences have prepared you for this role?
I’m truly passionate about contribution and hospitality. From volunteering and serving on multiple boards, working on television & live show productions, to being the VP of events & marketing at Elite Productions International (EPI), producing events like the Grammy Awards and high-profile corporate events, I’ve learned a great deal. Budgetary constraints, logistical limitations, high maintenance personalities and short timelines to name a few. Each experience has helped me grow, providing a wealth of knowledge. I’ve been able to use those tools and resources as best practices in the work I do today.
3. How did you get into the industry?
I had the great opportunity to grow up in the industry. My mother is a pioneer, starting Elite Productions International (EPI) over 25 years ago. As a child, I saw firsthand the drive, passion and creativity it took to be in this line of work and produce phenomenal events. From there I was hooked! I started from the bottom and learned everything I could to be where I am today.
4. What are you hoping to achieve in your new role?
Continuing to lead and lift those around me. Connect with industry professionals, building strong relationships and elevate our chapter, providing bigger, better and more dynamic events. Additionally, I want to grow both personally and professionally so that I can better contribute to others.
5. What do you enjoy most about the industry?
Though it can be hard work at times, it's truly rewarding and so much fun. I love that every day is different and that I constantly get to challenge my left and right brain. From out of the box creative concepts to complicated logistics, bring it on!
