Inspired when he saw a Broadway Instructor with a water bottle infuser featuring lemon and rosemary, Radisson Blu Mall of America’s Allen Plante, director of banquets and events, realized water could be enhanced with a selection of fresh fruits, vegetables and herbs. After some preliminary research, Plante discovered the amazing health benefits behind specialty water, thus creating Radisson’s very own “Water Bar,” also known as the H2O Mixology Bar.
A majority of the ingredients for the drinks at Radisson’s H2O Mixology Bar are locally sourced. Additionally, the water boasts many health benefits, from relieving headaches to helping digestion and increasing metabolism. The goal was to develop an offering that best served the hotel’s meetings attendees and ensured their minds would remain focused and clear throughout the day.
Not only does Radisson Blu serve specialized H2O, but its approach to food and beverage offerings is innovative as well as memorable. With the “unique grab and go” trend taking off, Radisson has found its own method of bold and creative service. A current favorite is the “Pails on the Fence,” which offers guests stainless steel pails that are attached to a sectioned chain-link fence in the center of the room, creating a vertical, 360-degree buffet for when guests break from a session or meeting.
The H2O Mixology Bar can be used by meetings groups at any time during the day and is perfect for any type of event. Larger groups can select four recipes, and those recipes will be ready once the group breaks from their meeting or event. Guest can choose from a selection of recipes or create their own. Mixologist will create the beverages while also explaining the health benefits of each. All guests will receive a complimentary water bottle so they can take the experience home with them and be reminded to return.
