Visitors to the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn usually didn’t expect a trip there to be much more than seeing a car museum.
To correct that perception, the cultural gem rebranded itself as the Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation earlier this year.
Why? To “more effectively convey the museum’s idea of innovation,” says Carol Kendra, vice president, business development, communications and strategy
The Henry Ford complex consists of the Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation, Greenfield Village and the Ford Rouge Factory Tour. It’s the museum, which has been hosting events since 1929, that’s changing its name.
The previous title didn’t always reveal the innovative atmosphere that the venue brings to events. The rebranding positions the venue as a destination for innovative events, product launches, corporate anniversaries, awards banquets and other galas that promote history, encouraging new ideas, further messages of progress and other statements of excellence for new and established corporations and highend social entertaining.
“Inspiration is a core reason people are here—they’re celebrating success, legacy, and history,” says Kendra. “Our museum is the only place in the world where you can take your guest center stage amongst the icons of American innovation. This allows people the flexibility to honor achievements, launch new ideas, and just spark imagination.”
Imagination is just one of The Henry Ford’s amenities. Award-winning culinary experiences, the 12-acre museum and 200-acre Greenfield Village grounds (which can host 100-10,000 guests) set the stage for any type of event. The museum’s exhibits create a backdrop for destination weddings, company anniversaries, social events, conferences, conventions and more.
This combination of setting, food and space creates “an authentic, unique, worldclass experience that speaks for itself on every occasion,” Kendra says. “You only have to add people to make your event spectacular.”
