Bend’s Hotel & Convention Center recently went under extensive renovations and reopened as ‘Riverhouse on the Deschutes’ earlier this year. The property’s transformation was completed to provide guests with a more refined and delightful experience. The newly renovated location appointed Todd Cooley as new general manager.

Renovations on the property began in late 2015. The update included reconstruction of its on-site restaurant, Currents. The property will showcase authentic Northwestern flair, new amenities and beautiful views of the river.

Cooley will be in charge of leading the Riverhouse into its next chapter. He most recently served at the Salishan Spa and Gold Resort on Oregon’s Central coast and has over ten years of experience in the industry. Cooley got his start in the industry with Hilton Hotels Corporation. He is a previous recipient of Oregon Hotelier of the Year in 2002 before advancing to work at various Oregon destinations.

The Riverhouse plans to debut its new branding, logo, and website to complete its refresh within coming months.

After 7 years of planning, the VanDyk Mortgage Convention Center is now open in downtown Muskegon. The official ribbon cutting took place on April 12, 2021.

On September 1, over 1,500 businesses across the country illuminated their buildings with red lights to draw attention to the devastation that the live events and performance art industries have faced as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to a survey commissioned by the American Hotel & Lodging Association (AHLA), frequent travelers feel safer when hotels adhere to AHLA's Stay Safe guidelines, which detail cleaning protocols for hotels during the COVID-19 pandemic.
