Getting back to the land. For those living in an urban landscape, the notion can conjure thoughts of wide-open spaces or familyowned farms and ranches. Thankfully for Texas planners, transporting your guests to the quiet and splendor of the outdoors can be just a short drive away.
For guests wanting to get back to the land, these four venues provide opportunities for planners to get out into the Texas Hill Country, or bring the country to them by transporting sustainable, locally sourced food to an urban event.

1. What are you looking forward to the most in your new role as director of sales and marketing?
Texas has many uniting themes throughout the state, and one is a pride in the state’s history and natural beauty. The state’s wide variety of museums and botanical gardens is a testament to that pride, and these locations—which range in focus from the history of Dr Pepper to the oil industry to state wildlife and more—can make for the perfect (not to mention memorable) venue for a meeting or event. Many museums have several venue spaces to offer, making it easy to customize an event based on size, technology and set-up needs, and overall vibe.
Armed with smartphones, tablets and laptops, meeting attendees are more connected than ever, but often have a hard time unplugging and focusing on the event they are attending. To draw attendees back to the present, Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort and Spa in San Antonio helps planners orchestrate meetings that make mindfulness a priority.
