San Antonio landed the top spot on Meetings and Conventions magazine’s Top 20 Meeting Cities in 2016 list.

The city has many venues for meeting planners. Hotel Contessa, a AAA Four Diamond hotel, has partnered with The Briscoe Western Art Museum to build a unique Texan experience for their guests.

The Briscoe Western Art Museum, located on the Riverwalk (just steps away from the hotel), features exhibitions and educational programs that highlight the region’s history. The partnership with Hotel allows for guests to truly experience the culture of the city. It also offers groups the possibility of hosting events at the museum and catering events at Hotel Contessa.

Hotel Contessa offers 10,000 square feet of meeting and event space, with 11 conference rooms and includes an executive board room, a 2,277-square-foot ballroom, and a 1,600-square-foot Cypress Room. The Briscoe Museum offers an extra 20,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor space.

For the first time, all five boroughs of New York City are lighting up rainbow in celebration of WorldPride's first time being hosted in the United States. Additionally, NYC & Company and LGBT MPA are partnering to offer a MICE familiarization trip for LGBTQ+ meeting and event planners.

IACC's 2019 Meeting Room of the Future Report reveals that sustainability is a top priority of meeting planners. Of those who responded to the survey, 44 percent said they believe that ethical operations and sustainable practices will be one of the most important elements for venues by 2024. A major concern of meeting planners is food waste, with 62 percent of respondents noting that they will consider how a venue manages food waste before booking.

Located near Austin, South Congress Hotel and Hotel Ella are positioned as the perfect summer venues. Each hotel has offerings for a wide array of events and can accommodate corporate and social functions alike.
