• Sheraton Denver Downtown Hired New Director of Sales

Sheraton Denver Downtown Hotel recently hired Sean McNamara as director of sales. His new role will include directing the sales department, putting strategies into action and driving meetings and events business.

McNamara graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder with a degree in sales and marketing. Prior to getting into the hospitality industry, McNamara wore many hats and held positions in industries like marketing, client services, media production, publishing and financial services.

“We are very excited to have Sean on our team,” says Tony Dunn, general manager, Sheraton Denver Downtown Hotel. “His proven successes and extensive sales background will help drive our sales efforts to the next level.”

Before joining the Sheraton Denver Downtown Hotel, McNamara worked at Sheraton Kona Resort and Spa at Keauhou Bay in Hawaii for six years. During this time, McNamara was recognized as Sales Leader of the Year for Starwood North America in 2015. He also gained experience working in a variety of roles at Sheraton Kona Resort and Spa, including positions in food and beverage, catering and convention services, and sales and marketing.

After several months of renovations, the DoubleTree by Hilton Philadelphia-Valley Forge is now open as the Alloy – King of Prussia, a DoubleTree by Hilton.

 

After almost 20 years of vacancy, the Cook County Hospital in Chicago will be put to use once again. A $150 million adaptive reuse project restored the historic, 106-year-old hospital, which has become a combined Hyatt Place and Hyatt House hotel, as well as medical offices, a museum, a food hall and more. While the opening is multi-phased, the hotels are scheduled to open in late July.  

 

Doctors, nurses, grocery store employees and more were essential to sustaining the continued stay-at-home orders that helped fight the spread of COVID-19. Such workers put their health at risk for the benefit of society, and Nakoma Resort and the Lost Sierra Chamber of Commerce want to recognize them for their efforts through the “Send Your Heroes” campaign.
