The Mr. Plant cocktail is named for Robert Plant, legendary vocalist and lyricist of Led Zeppelin. He is one of many rock legends, including The Doors, The Who and The Rolling Stones, who used to stay at the hotel that was known as Riot House back in the day. Reports have it that Plant shouted “I am a golden god!” from a hotel balcony overlooking the Sunset Strip, inspiring the well-known scene from the movie Almost Famous. Mr. Plant has been a house favorite at the hotel since. After changing hands several times, it became Andaz West Hollywood in 2009. The cocktail is proudly served at the Riot House Bar. 

INGREDIENTS
—1.5 oz. 209 gin
—8 cucumber slices (2 for garnish)
—½ tangerine
—dash of agave nectar
—club soda

DIRECTIONS
Fill a shaker with 5 cucumber slices, half a tangerine and a dash of agave nectar. Muddle ingredients. Next, fill shaker twothirds full with ice, add gin and shake well. Strain into a rocks glass, top off with club soda and garnish with remaining cucumber slices.

MIX: Two parts Honeyville Chokecherry Lime Mixer to one part Honey House Distillery Colorado Honey Whiskey.

ADD: Club soda or sparkling water to taste. Also can use ginger ale or ginger beer.

FINISH: Press equal parts fresh basil and mint leaves and add to beverage. Serve over ice.

About the Cocktail: Two European beneficiaries of the spice trade are referenced in a split base of gin and rhum agricole; with Greek yogurt, coconut water and makrut lime leaf adding creamy echoes of an Indian lassi.

Pouring Ribbons, a second-story bar in New York City’s East Village, can accommodate groups of 30-40 people; the entire bar can hold 100.

INGREDIENTS
—1.5 oz. Tanqueray gin
—.5 oz. JM Rhum Agricole 100 Proof
—1 oz. coconut water syrup
—.5 oz. lime juice
—1 tsp. Greek yogurt
—1 makrut lime leaf
