One of the best and simplest ways to get a real taste of local without going to a bunch of work and expense is scheduling a meeting in tandem with a destination’s event calendar.
Groups meeting in Snowmass during the 2017/2018 winter season and especially over the weekend of Dec. 15-17 will notice there is a party underway in conjunction with Snowmass Ski Area’s golden anniversary.
There is still time to enjoy spring on the slopes and adventure in the mountains once the sun starts going down in Snowmass.
>> A Moonlight Trek on snowshoes or cross-country skis follows a 1.2-mile loop under the moonshine from Snowmass Cross Country Center to Anderson Ranch Arts Center, stopping at stations along the way for hot cocoa with local firefighters, selfie breaks and more. Head down the hill for live music and a pasta dinner at Snowmass Club’s Black Saddle Bar and Grille.
Alan Palmer has landed the job of group sales director for Snowmass Tourism. He brings 30 years of experience in ski area and hospitality to his position.
“We are thrilled to bring Alan on board as the new group sales director at Snowmass Tourism,” says Rose Abello, tourism director. “Alan’s wealth of experience in the ski and hospitality industries, not to mention his experience with the leisure travel and the tour operator market, make him a wonderful addition to our group sales team.”
On the Rockies is the new bar, food and entertainment hub in Center Village at Copper Mountain, specializing in craft whiskeys and beers. Also new to the scene is Eagle BBQ serving up savory barbecue in a Colorado-themed atmosphere and on a snow-side patio.
After an extensive remodel, Gwyn’s High Alpine Restaurant, located on mountain at Snowmass, has expanded its capacity from 350 to 800 and added a bar complete with a large wood-burning fireplace and big-screen TVs.
