Live Nation Entertainment has signed a long-term lease to operate a 5,300-seat music and event venue at Centennial Yards, the $5 billion, 50-acre mixed-use development underway in downtown Atlanta. Centennial Yards Co. is leading the redevelopment of the city’s historic Gulch area. The new venue will sit steps away from State Farm Arena and Mercedes-Benz Stadium, anchoring a growing sports and entertainment district in the city’s core. The venue is expected to open in 2027, and a name has yet to be determined.
“Centennial Yards is poised to be the epicenter of sports and entertainment for the Southeastern United States,” says Brian McGowan, president of Centennial Yards Co., in a prepared statement. “Partnering with Live Nation brings us one step closer to creating a thriving hub where unforgettable experiences happen.”
Set to showcase national tours, global acts and local talent, the state-of-the-art venue is designed with the fan experience in mind—offering premium sound and clear sightlines. For meeting and event planners, those options translate into flexible spaces for private buyouts, VIP lounges, corporate suites, and branded activations. Built-in audiovisual and tailored catering and entertainment packages further streamline the logistics for planners.
The venue joins a downtown ecosystem that includes the Fox Theatre, the Tabernacle concert hall, and Buckhead Theatre, and is less than a mile from the Georgia World Congress Center. Also coming to Centennial Yards are the immersive entertainment venue Cosm (set to open next year) and the 292-room Hotel Phoenix (set to open late summer this year).
With Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority connectivity and proximity to the Atlanta BeltLine system of parks and trails, Centennial Yards is shaping up to be a walkable destination that planners should keep on their radar.
