The 800-room Grand Hyatt Miami Beach, set to be built adjacent to the Miami Beach Convention Center in Florida, is one step closer to construction. In mid-April, development firms Terra of Miami and Turnberry of Aventura announced they have secured financing from New York City-based real estate firm TYKO Capital, which will help advance the project to groundbreaking. Pre-construction sitework has already been completed.
“The Miami Beach Convention Center Hotel will be a game changer for our local economy,” says Miami Beach Mayor Steven Meiner. “This project will drive year-round tourism; create new jobs for our residents [and others]; and bring new business to our restaurants, shops, and cultural institutions. It’s a major investment in the long-term economic vitality of Miami Beach.”
Set to open in 2027, Grand Hyatt Miami Beach will feature 12 floors of guest rooms including 52 suites, four floors of meeting space, a pool deck with panoramic city views, and a lobby lounge and bar. The hotel will be connected to the convention center via climate-controlled skyway, a plus for planners seeking convenience. Pedestrian-friendly promenades and bike-sharing stations also are set to be included as part of the hotel’s development.
