Meetings software company Cvent of Tysons Corner, Virginia, released its annual list of the 50 top meeting and event destinations in North America in mid-May. These selections are based on last year’s request-for-proposal activity within Cvent’s sourcing platforms, including via the Cvent supplier network—rankings were determined by a set of qualifying criteria, including total room nights booked and total value of request for proposals, among others.

Twelve Southeast cities made it onto the top destinations list, with Orlando, Florida, taking the No. 1 spot for the 11th consecutive year. Also, notably, Nashville, Tennessee, rose from No. 4 to No. 3 on the list since last year. The following represent the 12 Southeast cities that proved their chops:

No. 1: Orlando, Florida

No. 3: Nashville, Tennessee

No 6: Atlanta, Georgia

No 14: Miami, Florida

No. 18: New Orleans, Louisiana

No 19: Fort Lauderdale, Florida

No 20: Kissimmee, Florida

No. 24: Tampa, Florida

No. 25: Charlotte, North Carolina

No. 42: Louisville, Kentucky

No. 49: Aventura, Florida

No. 50: Savannah, Georgia

“Being recognized by Cvent for the 11th year underscores the trust planners place in Orlando,” says Casandra Matej, president and CEO of Visit Orlando, in a prepared statement. “Through Cvent’s innovative technology platform, Visit Orlando works closely with our partners to connect planners with the right resources across a destination that continues to evolve and offers solutions for meetings of every size—reinforcing Orlando’s position as the top-ranked meetings destination in the country.”

Deana Ivey, president and CEO of the Nashville Convention & Visitors Corp., expressed her gratitude for Nashville’s increasingly positive recognition. “Being ranked among the top three meeting destinations in North America is a tremendous honor,” she says. “As Nashville continues to evolve as a premier meetings and conventions destination, we remain committed to delivering the authentic experiences that make Music City unique. With world-class venues like Music City Center and Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center, a highly walkable downtown campus, and an expanding portfolio of luxury hotels, Nashville continues to strengthen and elevate its appeal for meeting planners. Most importantly, the strong relationships we’ve built with our clients continue to drive growth and momentum for our city.”

Cvent also released an expansive list of top meetings hotels in North America. Complete versions of both lists can be found on its website.
