Virgin Hotel New Orleans, Virgin Hotels’ fifth property in the United States, is in the center of the city’s artsy Warehouse District. As a luxury lifestyle hotel, the property boasts a collection of showstopping perks and amenities for its visitors.
The Art Deco-inspired hotel, which opened in August 2021, features 238 Chambers (guest rooms), two Penthouse Suites, a 24-hour fitness center, The Pool Club rooftop bar and restaurant on the 13th floor, the Commons Club restaurant and lounge, and the communal workspace called the Funny Library Coffee Shop on the first floor.
“From live music to sunset happy hours at The Pool Club, the hotel constantly has something going on for their guests and locals to attend,” says Heather O’Dell, area director for public relations with Virgin Hotels. “It is also great for group guests who are looking to blur the lines between work and play. As an example, we are getting ready to launch an immersive art experience with Michael Weintrob (a Nashville photographer) that is complimentary for locals and guests to attend.”
For groups seeking a place to gather in the Big Easy, the Virgin offers 5,000 square feet of meeting and event space between seven distinctive settings. The Manor is the largest space at 1,860 square feet with a maximum occupancy of 278 people. Its arched colonnades with custom murals are inspired by the regional landscapes and provide a stunning backdrop for any event. Although it can be rented as is, the space does have the capability to be split into two smaller rooms for breakout sessions and intimate celebrations.
Both The Founder’s Room and The Sandbox room feature floor-to-ceiling windows that overlook Baronne Street. At 800 square feet, the Sandbox is suited for smaller social gatherings of up to 109 guests and offers flexibility due to its glass partitions, whereas the 900-square-foot Founder’s Room can host up to 129 people.
The Lounge is an eclectic and playful space that artfully invites planners to use it as overflow space to the adjacent gathering rooms on the second floor. This 907-square-foot space can also be used as its own functional event area for up to 108. The Study for 82 people offers a traditional and sophisticated touch with its rich maple woodwork, colorful drapery, and plush carpet. And the 122-square-foot dining room is the perfect garden alcove for a culinary experience with eight guests.
Of them all, O’Dell says that the Dreamboat is her favorite. Accessed via The Pool Club, the Dreamboat is a tropical 1970s-inspired oasis with loads of fresh greenery and playful topiary. “It is an indoor all-season hangout with an impressive operable façade that can instantly open to become an outdoor experience in beautiful weather,” she says. “This space can be used for a variety of events like a daytime lunch or evening reception.”
