Hyatt Hotels Corp. and the Scenic Rivers Development Alliance announced in late January they will soon build the first Destination by Hyatt brand hotel in Mississippi. Okhissa Lake Lodge is set to open in Franklin County near Jackson in 2027, nestled on picturesque Okhissa Lake within the Homochitto National Forest. The lodge will include a 200-room hotel with cabin suites, as well as a conference center with space for 1,000, spa, and boardwalk for attendees to enjoy between meetings.
