The Hacienda at Armendaris, A Ted Turner Reserve, in Engle, New Mexico, joined National Geographic’s “Best of the World 2024” list. For the first time this year, National Geographic included a Worth a Trip category in which the resort was noted. The category lauds establishments that are a gateway to a destination, helping travelers explore the culture, history, landscape, or wildlife in a deeper and richer way.
“We are truly humbled to see the Hacienda at Armendaris recognized with such a tremendous honor,” says Jade McBride, president of Ted Turner Reserves. “When Ted Turner opened the Hacienda—his private residence—to guests in October 2022, we knew it was a special experience to be celebrated.”
Eva Mendoza, general manager of southern New Mexico guest operations for Ted Turner Reserves, says, “Hosting guests on Armendaris’ 360,000 acres of protected and rewilded lands allows us to carry forth our mission of connecting people with nature to inspire them to want to save it.”
All four Ted Turner Reserve properties in New Mexico—Hacienda at Armendaris, Ladder in Caballo, Sierra Grande in Truth or Consequences, and Vermejo in Raton—offer luxurious, inspiring desert settings for groups up to 200 to gather.
