A great way to build camaraderie while surrounded by beauty is sharing Hoover Dam rafting tours in Lake Mead National Recreation Area. Now in its 40th year, Lake Mead Mohave Adventures (LMMA) is offering two Hoover Dam Rafting Tours in Nevada this year. The Hoover Dam Raft Tour and Hoover Dam Postcard Tour are offered every Thursday through Sunday from March through December.
Both outings follow the Black Canyon National Water Trail on the Colorado River and provide photo opportunities at the base of the Hoover Dam, located beneath the Mike O’Callaghan Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge. The structure is the widest single-arch concrete bridge in the Western Hemisphere. Guides navigate motor-assisted, inflatable rafts through the Black Canyon and share their knowledge about the geological area and wildlife, including desert bighorn sheep, osprey, and great blue heron.
For a longer outing, select the Hoover Dam Raft Tour that begins at Lake Mead RV Village in Boulder City with checking in at 9:30 a.m. before embarking on a three-hour rafting excursion complete with lunch. The journey ends at Willow Beach Marina & Campground, where participants ride tour buses back to Boulder City.
The Hoover Dam Postcard Raft Tour is ideal for those with limited time to spend on the water. The tour begins at Hoover Dam Lodge in Boulder City, checking in at 10:30 a.m. and going on a 1.5-hour trip along the Colorado River. Snacks and beverages are included, and tour buses return guests back to Hoover Dam Lodge.
In addition to Hoover Dam Rafting Tours in Nevada, the company also offers private and customizable charters for small and large groups. Private rafting tours allow guests to choose a preferred departure time, travel on a private raft with a dedicated tour guide, and select specific drinks and snacks or a catered lunch at Willow Beach Marina & Campground.
Boulder City is a 30-mile drive from Las Vegas that takes about 45 minutes, making Hoover Dam rafting tours in Nevada a fun add-on or team-building excursion for meetings and conventions.
