The Reno-Sparks Convention & Visitors Authority (RSCVA) in Reno, Nevada, added two regional directors of convention sales. Christina Henshall will represent RSCVA’s group events business in the Pacific Northwest, while Misty Sparks will do so in the Midwest.

“The meetings and events industry is highly competitive, and Reno Tahoe is fortunate that Christina Henshall and Misty Sparks have dedicated their talents to Northern Nevada,” says RSCVA Interim President and CEO Mike Larragueta. “Both Christina and Misty bring decades of experience, along with an unrivaled work ethic and an inviting personality, which is crucial to opening doors and generating repeat customers.”

Henshall has worked in the hospitality industry for more than 25 years, with some of the largest global and national brands, from Marriott and Hilton to Caesars Entertainment. Henshall is stationed in Northern California, where she oversees the territory including Northern California, Northern Nevada, Oregon, Washington State, and Western Canada. She earned her bachelor’s in hospitality management from San Jose State University.

Sparks operates the Midwest regional office from Ohio, where she’s responsible for booking business throughout Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Montana, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, Wisconsin, and Wyoming. Sparks earned her bachelor’s in hospitality management from the University of Kentucky, and she has more than 20 years of experience working with Caesars Entertainment and Hyatt brands.

Regional directors of convention sales live and work within their respective markets, where they are responsible for effectively soliciting and selling the Reno, Sparks, and North Lake Tahoe area as a convention destination. Their goal is to book business with potential and established customers, utilizing hotels and RSCVA-managed facilities for conventions and meetings including, conventions, exhibits, trade shows, sports events, corporate meetings, incentive programs, association activities, and special events. RSCVA has seven regional offices.
