Next year will mark the beginning of a new era for Arizona’s hospitality industry with the creation of the state’s largest hotel, VAI Resort. The $1 billion, 60-acre development will be in Glendale, about 9 miles northwest of Phoenix. It will prominently feature more than 1,100 luxury rooms, suites, and villas, as well as a multilevel, multifunctional live music and concert venue.
Reminiscent of Las Vegas grandeur, this VAI Global Development endeavor is a vision of the company’s president and CEO, Grant Fisher. “Traveling has always been a passion of mine, and it’s what inspired me to dream big. VAI Resort was born from my experiences exploring different parts of the world and wanting to bring this global perspective to my backyard,” says Fisher in a prepared statement. “Our mission is to redefine the luxury hospitality experience while incorporating the thrill of live entertainment. VAI is a one-of-a-kind destination set to exceed all expectations and leave a lasting impression on our guests.”
VAI Resort will have four towers of accommodations. The Muse Tower is a first-of-its-kind combination of hotel and amphitheater, featuring 328 rooms—160 of which have private balconies with views of the concert stage and venue that accommodates more than 8,000 attendees. The Rhythm Tower is an ideal choice for hosting meetings and events with easy access to the hotel’s conference spaces. The Cadence Tower offers ultra-luxe accommodations for a more relaxing atmosphere. Finally, the VAI Villas feature premium designer rooms ranging from 1,100 square feet to the 5,300-square-foot penthouse.
After work hours or in between meetings, attendees can take in Arizona’s sunny weather at VAI’s Konoa Island—the largest human-made party island in the United States—featuring luxury daybeds and cabanas, authentic Mediterranean cuisine, VIP bottle service, and island tunes. VAI Resort will also be home to 5 acres of temperature-controlled, clear blue waters and nearly 1 mile of white sand beaches. The resort will house 12 signature restaurants, a globally inspired spa, a tethered hot air balloon that can take 30 guests up to the 130-foot-high Konos Sky Bar, approximately 80,000 square feet of about 40 luxury retail destinations, art galleries, and more.
