• Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation Hired New Sales Director

Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation and the Steamboat Grand Hotel has hired Jennifer Shea as their new sales director. In her new role, Shea will create and implement strategies for local, regional and national channels for tour operators, wholesalers, travel agents, properties and campaigns. She will also be in charge of pricing and products, overseeing conference programs and managing the sales team.

“Jenn’s strong background in sales and her in-depth knowledge of the Steamboat community and beyond make her an ideal addition to our sales and marketing team,” says Katie Brown, vice president of sales and marketing for Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation. “We look forward to her fresh perspective, extensive sales background and hands-on attitude to build on the success of the sales and marketing teams at the resort and hotel.”

Shea has a bachelor’s degree in business administration and art history from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul and has extensive experience in the industry. Before joining SSRC, Shea worked as the national sales manager for Honey Stinger Energy Foods. Additionally, she’s worked as a program manager for the Yampa Valley Community Foundation and a product manager for Time/Warner.

I’m thrilled to join their efforts and lead this dynamic team.”

For the past 10 years, she has lived in the Yampa Valley and has been an active member of the community. She served on the Steamboat Springs Chamber marketing committee and was on the board of directors for the 4Yellow Foundation. Now, she serves on the Family Development Center’s board of direction, volunteers for the New Frontiers for Girls and Women Event, is a troop leader for the Girl Scouts, and a member of Camber.

The SaaS platform, Wix.com, has released a new builder for business owners, planners and venue operators to create customized seating maps. Users can also assign ticket pricing based on the location of individual seats, and any variation of seating can be mapped, including tables, rows of seats, areas with general seating (e.g., a standing-room-only area), reserved VIP sections, or a combination of options.

 

If the early registration numbers for IPW, the annual international trade show of the U.S. Travel Association, are an indication, global hospitality professionals are ready to return to the United States. By the end of March, more than two months ahead of the June 4-8 gathering in Orlando, Florida, registrations by international buyers and media had nearly doubled last year’s delegate count.
