The Stella Hotel Appoints New General Manager

Peggy Trott has been named general manager at The Stella. The 176-room hotel is set to open in March 2017. Trott comes to this position following her stint as general manager at The Inn at Laguna Beach.

“I’m extremely honored by this opportunity to join The Stella team,” Trott says. “I look forward to introducing The Stella to the community of Bryan-College Station and making this my home. We plan on creating an authentic upscale atmosphere where you can kick off your boots and enjoy the best that Texas has to offer.”

Previously, Trott worked as the general manager at the Hotel Palomar, the director of hotel transitions and general manager for Kimpton Hotels and Restaurants. She has held managerial positions in hotels across the country, from Seattle to Washington D.C.

Trott is a graduate of the University of Arizona and has received numerous awards throughout her career, including Rookie General Manager of the Year at the Alexis Hotel in Seattle, Manager of the Year at the ANA Hotel in Washington D.C., and Most Creative General Manager award from Kimpton Hotels and Restaurants.

Remote working has become mainstream with the continued presence of COVID-19. While many people have welcomed the new normal of working from home, others miss the separation of spaces, as many corporate offices have remained closed since March. Without the daily obligation to go into the office, professionals have the ability to travel more freely. Hotels across the country are creating “work from hotel” deals–a play on “work from home”–so people can explore new places while still fitting in their 9 to 5.  

 

Choosing a career in the event industry is not for the faint of heart. Let’s face it: Event planning is stressful. The last-minute changes, demands from clients and surmounting urgency of a quickly approaching event can make it difficult to maintain a healthy work-life balance.
