“Nature’s Elegance” was the theme of the exclusive Governors Ball after-party that followed the 68th Emmy Awards telecast in September, as well as for the back-to-back Creative Arts Balls that took place the previous weekend. For event planner Cheryl Cecchetto, president and owner of Sequoia Productions, this was her 19th Emmy Awards Governors Ball.
The design of this table was inspired by the bold colors, geometric patterns, curvilinear lines, organic elements and casual atmosphere indicative of contemporary deco style.

Guests at the International Special Events Society (ISES) Denver Chapter’s annual Designer Showcase, held at the Studios at Overland Crossing in Denver on Feb. 16, admired four creative vignettes that honored Academy Award-winning films. One team used an all-time classic film as inspiration: The Wizard of Oz.
Aesthetic inspiration can come from nearly anywhere— even from a single chair. Ralph Bellisario, owner of Bellisario Florist in Eastpointe, used a Chameleon chair as the starting point for designing a vignette for Ballroom Bliss at the Royal Park Hotel. The silver-toned metal chair with a satin cushion is new and on trend, and can be adapted to a variety of concepts.

It could also serve as a motto of Los Angeles-based caterer Terri Wahl of Eagle Rock’s Auntie Em’s Kitchen Catering, an offshoot of her popular restaurant, Auntie Em’s Kitchen. Wahl is a pro at adding rustic chic and a bird or two (even some heritage chicken eggs from her own hens) to her seasonally minded tablescapes. Not surprisingly, brides embrace Wahl’s whimsical touches.
