Collectors and avid supporters of the arts, homeowners Tim and Millena Coffey graciously open the doors of their historic home to host events from large fundraisers for the James A. Michener Art Museum to intimate luncheons for the Friends of the Delaware Canal.

AS FANS OF THE TV SERIES PORTLANDIA KNOW, the phrase "Put a bird on it" means adding an avian image to make something- especially a handcrafted item-more adorable. It could also serve as a motto of Los Angeles-based caterer Terri Wahl of Eagle Rock’s Auntie Em’s Kitchen Catering, an offshoot of her popular restaurant, Auntie Em’s Kitchen. Wahl is a pro at adding rustic chic and a bird or two (even some heritage chicken eggs from her own hens) to her seasonally minded tablescapes. Not surprisingly, brides embrace Wahl’s whimsical touches.
THE ROMANCE OF AN ENGLISH GARDEN was Derek Woodruff’s inspiration for this summertime tablescape.
Woodruff, owner of Floral Underground in Traverse City, created the table for an event showcase in New Jersey sponsored by floral supplier Syndicate Sales. The showcase was intended to offer layered looks for budget-minded planners and brides.
WARM COLORS, ROMANTIC FLORALS, a touch of cascading leaves and strategically placed books intertwined to create the look of this unique tablescape, which was one of several featured at the eighth annual International Special Events Society Denver Designer Showcase held at Infinity Park International Ballroom in Denver. A rustic feel was woven throughout the tablescape design, created by Isabelle Kline Design, to authentically represent a wedding at Devil’s Thumb Ranch Resort & Spa in Tabernash.

Marsha Hunt and Bridget Connell, co-owners of Haute Flower Boutique, set out to create a tabletop that radiated the feeling of a sultry summer night in the city with an eclectic, urban vibe. And it didn’t take them long to realize their ideal destination: Architectural Antiques’ turn-of-the-century warehouse in Northeast Minneapolis’ Arts District.
