Associated Luxury Hotels International has created a new parent company, Associated Luxury Hotels, which offers a solution for luxury-level and upper-upscale independent hotels and resorts around the globe through their current and future holdings. ALHI will focus on serving the Meetings, Incentives, Conventions & Exhibitions marketplace for the 250 AAA Four- and Five-Diamond quality hotels it serves.
The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation in Virginia has announced the next part of its renovation, which will enhance the inn’s exteriors as well as its food and beverage menu. This includes a new restaurant, a reflection pool and private event spaces. The inn halted reservations on Jan. 22 but is set to reopen in April 2017.
Splacer, an online marketplace for event spaces, has expanded to the Los Angeles market. At its debut, the market had 140 listings available to book for meetings and events, including villas, lofts, museums, theaters and more.
InnSight Hotel Management Group based in Oregon has selected Todd Gray as their new vice president of finance. Gray joins the company with a background in finance, accounting, information technology and administration. He most recently worked for Menashe Properties, Inc., directing finance and accounting activities.
Study Hotels has opened its second location in the heart of University City. The hotel is located at the crossroads of Drexel University and the University of Pennsylvania.
The 10-story hotel, owned and developed by New York-based developer Hospitality 3, features 212 guest rooms. It also includes features such an innovative Study living room, fitness center and an active art gallery that showcases local artists and student work on a rotating basis.
Canopy by Hilton, in a joint development between Crockett Urban Ventures and Merritt Development Group, plans to develop Canopy by Hilton San Antonio River Walk. Scheduled to open in the fall of 2018, the hotel will be managed by White Lodging Services.
“We are excited to work with entrepreneurial and forward-thinking developers,” says Chris Anderson, senior vice president and chief revenue office, White Lodging. “This will be an architectural wonder and a real destination until itself.”
The newly opened Asbury Hotel, located in Asbury Park, N.J., is already making a name for itself as the new hotel hotspot—it was recently awarded the number one spot on USA Today’s 2017 Reader’s Choice Awards Best New Hotel in America list.

The Greater Madison Convention & Visitors Bureau is celebrating immense success with their Big Bundle Up warm clothing drive.
With Middleton Tourism Commission, GMCVB was able to bring in 580 pieces of warm clothing to give to those in need—an 86 percent increase from last year’s donation of 269 items of clothing.
All donations were made to the Madison YWCA, which shelters 150 women, children and families every night.
Charlie Palmer Group’s Northern California properties, Mystic Hotel by Charlie Palmer and Harvest Inn by Charlie Palmer, has hired a new leadership team.
The team includes James DeLuca, general manager at Harvest Inn; Tamara De Mars, director of sales and marketing; and Parul Suri, director of revenue management and distribution. Alongside Chef Palmer, the team will work to elevate the guest experience and increase business sales at the two hotels.
