Hotel Becket Celebrates Grand Opening with the Debut of Ten Crows Restaurant

While Hotel Becket in South Lake Tahoe opens its doors, it simultaneously debuts its Ten Crows restaurant, an Alabama-style restaurant dedicated to fire pit cooking.

Executive Chef Trent Bissell designed the menu, digging into his northern Alabama roots for ideas. Along with Alabama flavors, the restaurant incorporates Carolina, Creole and Cajun tastes.

 “Growing up in the South, barbeque and smoking meats was always a passion and a hobby for me,” says Bissell. “I’m excited to bring my years of experience cooking authentic southern specialties to Lake Tahoe.”

Allison Walker Becomes Highland Haven Corporate Sales Manager

Allison Walker has been hired as the new corporate sales manager for The Highland Haven. Walker has been working in the inn for 15 years and has been full-time since November of 2015.

Prior to working at the Evergreen-based hotel, Walker held a number of positions at the Marriott, Holiday Inn, Evergreen Area Chamber of Commerce and the Pines at Genesee.

Walker received her bachelor's degree in business administration with a concentration in marketing from Colorado State University in 2009.

Iconic Ames Boston Hotel Adds All-New Meeting & Event Spaces

The Ames Boston Hotel has revealed its 1,700 square feet of all-new meeting and event space.

Located on the second floor, the two new spaces include Ames and Oliver & Oakes; they fit groups up to 125 people and feature a design inspired by American manufacturing, uniformity and ingenuity. They were designed by New York City-based architecture and design firm Glen and Co. Architecture.

Hyatt Regency San Francisco Undergoes Club Lounge Renovation

The Hyatt Regency San Francisco top floor lounge has undergone a transformation introducing new high rise windows with 360 panoramic views designed by Looney & Associates.

The renovation was inspired by the San Francisco Bay and city skyline with modern architecture being reflected throughout the lounge.

Langham Hospitality Group Introduces “No Strings Attached PLUS”

The Langham Hospitality Group has launched their new program, “No Strings Attached PLUS,” with features such as waived cancellation terms, no attrition rate charges, complimentary internet charges for all guests and much more.

The program, which can be booked from April 1 through Aug. 31, 2017, for events taking place between April 1 and Dec. 31, 2017, is designed to offer event planners and organizers more flexibility with rewards and privileges unique to this program.

Located in the Walt Disney World Resort, these hotels are within walking distance of the Disney Springs area. The Skirvin Hilton Hotel has been recognized with the 2016 Bright Blue Futures Award for full-service hotels with less than 500 rooms from Hilton Hotels Corporation. It was also ranked number one throughout all Hilton full-service hotels for superior service as measured by guest satisfaction.

Two Chefs to Advance to International Copper Skillet Competition

Four chefs representing the United States and Canada from IACC-member properties recently competed in the IACC Americas Chapter Cook-Off at the Chase Center on the Riverfront in Wilmingon, Del. There was also a Junior Chef category in which IACC conference venue chefs under the age of 26 competed.

The chefs were given basic pantry items and a mystery basket of proteins with 30 minutes to prepare and present their dishes to judges from the local area.

Tony’s Catering Partners with Occasions

Occasions Catering in Englewood, Colo., announced that they will be taking over Tony’s Catering full-service catering operations. Tony’s Catering in Denver, a division of Tony’s Meats & Market, will continue to offer limited-service catering to its clients as well as pick-up and drop-off.
